GCCG what?

Ok, so I have this pet project. I didn't make it, but I get to tinker on it (and so can you, if you want! Ask me how!), and I enjoy it for some twisted reason.

This project is called GCCG, the Generic Collectible Card Game (engine). Here's a picture of how awesome it is:

This is a screenshot of the Magic: The Gathering lobby. There were 27 players on when I took this screenshot, and there are usually quite a few on at any given time.

Anyway, what this program lets you do is play card (some) card games online. Games currently available are Magic: The Gathering, Middle Earth: The Wizards, Lord of the Rings, NetRunner*, and Call of Cthulhu*. (*Games available from svn.) Magic is by far the most popular, followed by Middle Earth. NetRunner is also fairly popular, but generally games have to be arranged (not many people hang out in the lobby).

GCCG is ©Tommi Ronkainen

So, that's a basic intro to what GCCG is. Now, you ask, what is my part in this? Well, there are a lot more collectible card games than the ones mentioned above. I work to make other games those available. I must admit, however, it takes me a long time to implement a new game. I've been working on the Star Wars module for over a year, albeit alongside INWO and Star Trek 1E.

Ok, that's it for now. More later. Eventually.

  1. Hi!

I'm responsible for the StarTrek1E plugin for LackeyCCG. While looking for other online game engines I found Gccg, and then now also you. What's the progress on the StarTrek1E plugin for Gccg? Do you need any help? :) Do you have a public repository or project (i.e. Google Code, Sourceforge, etc)?

    Best Regards,
    Johan

  2. My name is Cody Mattson and I decided seperately to try and implement Inwo for Gccg as well, I have it in a "playabe" state. I am still looking for images for the Assassins and Subgenius sets. Maybe we should collaborate?

    Thanks,

    Cody
